Hagerty Vehicle Listing Card Redesign

Optimizing design

During 2025, Hagerty was undergoing a revamp in its design system. For Hagerty Marketplace, vehicle listing cards are a core component of that product. In this redesign, I optimized the card design for higher density browsing across different device sizes, clearer hierarchy of information, and better functionality across different Hagerty products.

Card size variants

This new vehicle card design iteration introduces a new large and extra-small size to accommodate more varieties of use-cases across Hagerty. The large version includes descriptor text and a much larger hero image, making it ideal for use in editorial scenarios, such as on Hagerty Media. The extra-small version optimizes for density on mobile as it stacks in a list view.

Design system variants

These vehicle cards needed to take into account the various states of an auction’s lifecycle. This change in state is denoted within the first line of text information on the card.

A new dark-mode version was also introduced in this iteration.

Use-cases throughout Hagerty ecosystem

Hagerty offers 5 different products, so cross-promotion is vital for awareness and exposure to its users. These vehicle cards needed to function optimally for Marketplace, but also across the rest of Hagerty’s ecosystem to entice and bring traffic to Marketplace.
